Best “reset password” email ever

Today I was checking out some video sites, because I’m writing a review of one for TUG. So I was on Super Deluxe trying to log in but I couldn’t remember my password, it’s a good thing the “Forgot password” feature exists. This is the email I got (emphasis mine):

“Good Morning, Forgetsy Bear.

We hear you’re having some trouble with the ol’ brainbox. Something about being unable to recall your Super Deluxe password?

Well, allow us to cut through some of the bong smoke.

1. Your password reset code is: xxxxxx

2. Go here: xxxxxxx

3. Enter your e-mail address, your password reset code and a new password.

That should do the trick.
Super Deluxe
www.superdeluxe.com”

Seriously, that’s the funniest “serious” email I’ve ever gotten.

about the london 2012 olympics logo

This is the logo for the London 2012 Olympics:

london 2012

And a lot of people really hate it. I like it.

Why? Well I think it’s loud, it’s ballsy, fresh, fun, its easily adaptable, its young, I can see it on all sorts of things (shirts, merchandise, buses etc), its a logo that has a strong impact when you first see it thus it’ll be a pretty easily recognizable symbol of the olympics. Its just flexible. That’s not to say though, that it’s perfect, it could have been drawn better, but it’s far from the train wreck it’s being made out to be.

I really think it’s not bad at all, here’s the branding video:

I think the logo works really well, specially in motion.

Also, whether you like it or hate it, the logo is extremely unique and memorable, and I feel already it’s marked the 2012 Olympics in a good way, the Olympics will be everywhere in London, and the logo has started this.

finally

When I started my weblog I was free to write whatever I wanted and I loved it. No one was reading it, there was no pressure. I could write about personal issues and not worry about it. I can’t do that anymore.

It’s not that thousands are reading it now, it’s still just a few, but that freedom is gone.

Update: Just to clear this up, what I meant to say in this note was that from now on I won’t be writing about anything personal (I kind of stopped doing that already). That’s all. I hope that’s clear enough.
